Game Preview: 2026 Regular Season Game 37 vs Minnesota Lynx

Date, Time, and Location: Monday, August 23rd, 5:00pm, Target Center (Minneapolis)

The Golden State Valkyries continued their road trip on Monday when they visit the Minnesota Lynx. After the home loss in the last game between the teams, the Valkyries have one more chance in the regular season to get their first ever win over the Lynx. With the loss to start the road trip, the team will be looking to stop the slide which has reduced their cushion in their battle to hold on to their seed. The game will have local broadcasts in all three Golden State home markets and be carried nationally on USA, which means no WNBA League Pass live streaming.

The Valkyries

The initial injury report for the Valkyries is clean and the two days without a game as well as minutes management on Friday should leave them pretty fresh for this game. Laeticia Amihere did not play in the home game against the Lynx, but it would be hard to see her not getting at least some time after her performance in the last game. Minnesota is likely to play relatively taller lineups, so going away from the smallball-heavy rotations may be a forced decision.

The Opposition

Minnesota’s initial injury report includes one player as Courtney Williams is listed as out right now. Given that their typical eight player rotation features one guard and two post players coming off of the bench, starting with a taller lineup seems to be their most likely choice. It also remains to be seen how they will handle any early game backup point guard minutes. The Lynx visited the Washington Mystics on Friday, getting the win to extend their streak to six games.
