The Golden State Valkyries return home on Saturday for the first of two games before the All Star Break, both against the Washington Mystics to complete the regular season matchups between the teams. The perfect road trip for the Valkyries extended their winning streak to eight games and they now get to try to add to their league lead when it comes to home wins. The game will only have the home local broadcast carried in two of the media markets.

The Valkyries

There is a player listed on the initial injury report for Golden State as Juste Jocyte is listed as out due to foot soreness. Given that she has not played in recent games before they have been decided, it would not affect the rotation, but the possibility that she might miss some playing time if the opportunity arises is still unfortunate. The Valkyries used smallball lineups extensively in the second half again on Wednesday, but the height that the Mystics may limit their ability to do so to the same extent and they did choose the full platoon at center against Washington.

The Opposition

Washington has played three games since hosting the Valkyries, winning the first two games after that loss. They last played at home on Thursday though, losing to Portland in a game where they fell behind early and could not keep up on the offensive end. The Mystics have a clean initial injury report, which is good news for them as the absence of Sonia Citron was definitely a factor in the previous game between the teams. They have not made any player moves since that meeting.
