The halfway point of the regular season was reached on Saturday after the holiday break with the first day of games at San Leandro High School. The All Star Game will be at 6pm this upcoming Saturday and then the second half of the season will start with a full set of games on Sunday.
Wolves 83 Riptide 79
The Wolves were playing in the first game of the day having made a key addition during the break, bringing in Connie Clarke right after she had a strong season in Brazil. The Riptide had narrow advantages in each of the first three quarters as they were trying to build standings points while getting some separation in the chase for the playoffs. Clarke and Aaniya Webb had big scoring games for the Wolves though and they used a big fourth quarter to get the 83-79 victory and the absolute minimum points in the standings.

The Swish had two new players for the game who could be key additions as they try to grab one of the byes in the playoffs. Rokia Doumbia has extensive experience in the league, but she also spent part of the offseason participating in overseas club play and national team duty while Tamia Ugass spent her rookie year winning the championship in Croatia after completing her college career at Kansas City. They were rolling in the first half, but the Titans did manage to pick up both quarter points in the second half as they try to avoid falling out of the playoff picture.

The Phoenix only had five available players for their game, but managed to get the job done with that group. Jess Lawson had a triple-double and Alisha Wilson also had a big day on the scoring front. They had the lead early, which was key with the anticipation that the game might get tougher for them late. As the game progressed, they did not end up skipping a beat, sweeping the quarter and preventing the Reign from even picking up a little help in the standings as they push for a spot in the playoffs.

The Royals were looking to pick up a big win to separate themselves from the pack of teams that are just sitting inside the playoff places and had the lead after one quarter. Koi Love and the Blaze dominated the middle two quarters and then made sure that they picked up the last quarter point too, winning 94-67 to stay perfect.
