The Golden State Valkyries return to action after the Commissioner’s Cup break, starting a five-game road trip with a visit to Atlanta Dream. The teams already met twice in San Francisco last week so this will be their final regular season meeting this year. Atlanta will be looking to bounce back from some more losses now that they are returning home, falling further back in the standings in the process. This game will be broadcast nationally on CBS so the streaming option will be Paramount+ instead of WNBA League Pass.
The Valkyries
There are no injuries to report for the Valkyries as this road trip features four games in a seven-day span before they get more rest. This figures to be another game where the full ten player rotation makes sense for Golden State after that was part of the formula to get wins in the previous two meetings. Those two victories helped the Valkyries flip the all-time series between the two teams to 3-2 in their favor. They visited the Dream twice last year, splitting the games.
The Opposition
Atlanta has played two games after their trip to San Francisco with two more road losses. They had a back-to-back, losing in Seattle on Saturday after their second game against the Valkyries. They had to make a change to the lineup for that game with Naz Hillmon out for rest. She returned on Thursday when they played the Washington Mystics, but came off of the bench behind Sika Kone. They have the same two players on their initial injury report as they have had in recent games with Brionna Jones and Aaliyah Nye set to miss another contest. The Dream have made one move recently, filling their vacant developmental player spot with speedy point guard Jaylyn Sherrod.
