Gabby Williams Named 2026 WNBA All Star Starter

The WNBA All Star starters were announced on Thursday for this year’s game in Chicago and Gabby Williams was one of the ten players selected, a first for the Golden State Valkyries. The starters were determined by a combination of votes among fans, media, and the players. Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon were selected as the general managers for the two teams as part of honoring of the past of the league in this anniversary year. The current head coaches will vote for the remaining twelve players now and those results will be announced on Tuesday.

Fan voting results were revealed twice before the final release and Gabby Williams had been doing well enough in those results to be considered likely to make it. She ended up comfortably 5th in the final fan vote among frontcourt players. That vote counted for half of the overall ranking as she finished 7th in the media ranking, but was 4th in the player vote to finish 5th overall. Full media and player voting was not released, but Veronica Burton was the only other Valkyries in the top 40 of fan voting at 37th, 15th among guards with four backcourt players being selected.
