The Golden State Valkyries host the Atlanta Dream again on Friday after the teams met on Wednesday. It will be a tough game again as both teams are well-coached and have time to scheme around what they saw from the last matchup. Like other Friday games, ION has coverage, and there are no competing games in the timeslot so it will be a full national broadcast.
The Valkyries
It is another game with a clean injury report for Golden State as the team will once again need to consider their lineups and how they match up with the opposition. With virtually every Atlanta lineup bringing height to the table, minimizing the smallball lineup and playing Laeticia Amihere more early in the game to guarantee that there is a post player out there at all times seems logical for this game. Some starters had to play heavier minutes than would be ideal so managing rest early in the game could be critical for the second half.
The Opposition
There were no new injuries to report for the Dream, which was good news after Allisha Gray had to leave the game early after drawing a foul. Brionna Jones and Aaliyah Nye remain injured and unavailable. Even with a relative offensive explosion in the fourth quarter, Atlanta was held to their lowest scoring output of the season by five points and had been coming off of six games of at least 90 points. The Valkyries did a great job of limiting the Dream starters and getting enough rebounds overall to prevent them from getting comfortable on offense.
