Game Preview: 2026 Regular Season Game 13 vs Seattle Storm

Date, Time, and Location: Friday, June 12th, 7:00pm, Climate Pledge Arena (Seattle)
Broadcast Information: ION (full national), WNBA League Pass (Streaming)

The Golden State Valkyries have one road game on Friday when they visit the Seattle Storm for the second time this season ahead of a three-game homestand. The teams last met in the season opener with the Valkyries getting a solid win and the Storm have continued to show that they are in the middle of rebuilding this season as they have struggled to string together wins. Like other Friday games, this will be shown on ION with no competing games, meaning a full national broadcast.

The Valkyries

There were no players on the initial injury report again for the Valkyries. After a string of games where smallball lineups were reasonable, this seems more of the type of matchup where it will be difficult to run them so heavily. Seattle almost always has two post players on the court now that they are closer to having their full lineup and all four of their options there right now could be considered natural centers so playing with no centers at all will be tougher to deal with in the paint.

The Opposition

Seattle went 3-3 after starting the season with their loss to the Valkyries, but are coming into this game on a six-game losing streak. Their last game was at home on Wednesday as they lost to Los Angeles. There will be some differences in the lineup from the first meeting as Awa Fam joined the team late to finish up the season in Spain, starting at power forward these days in her rookie season. Katie Lou Samuelson was still recovering from injury in the opener. Two players who were with the team then have since been waived as Grace Vanslooten had to be let go for roster limit reasons and then Lexie Brown was waived to clear a spot for Taylor Thierry, who signed a developmental player contract a week into the season before being upgraded to the full roster recently.
