Brno played their first game since Elissa Cunane signed for the Valkyries, returning to Czech league play from the international break on Wednesday with an 84-69 win over Trutnov. Cunane had 12 points and 7 rebounds in 31 minutes. The team was scheduled to finish the regular season on Sunday, but the illnesses that limited their lineup in the previous game did not clear up and they decided not to try to play USK Prague.

Galatasaray’s first game in the Turkish league after the international break was on Thursday as they defeated Nesibe Aydin 97-73. The final on Sunday was against Reyer Venezia, who they are also competing with for the league title, and they managed to grind out a 54-45 win for their fifth cup title in a row as Salaun had 2 points and 7 rebounds in 31 minutes.

Carla Leite

The Perth Lynx finished the regular season on Sunday with the winner of their game against the Townsville Fire getting homecourt advantage when the teams square off again in the semifinals. Kayla Thornton

No longer under contract with an overseas team, Kayla Thornton was able to head to the Bay Area early to play in the All Star Celebrity Game in Oakland on Friday. She suited up for Jerry Rice’s team, which lost to Barry Bonds’s team 66-55.
