Valkyries Mini-Plans Available and National TV Schedule Announced
Mini-Plans Being Sold
With the process for converting deposits to season tickets taking the Golden State Valkyries a long time, fans who did not want to commit to buying tickets for the whole season have been waiting for other options for buying tickets directly from the team. The wait was finally over on Thursday when the team announced three different packages with multiple seating options. Packages started selling quickly as there are still expected to be additional ticket options in the future.
The package with the most expensive base price is the Weekender, which only includes games on Fridays, Saturday, and Sundays, with the eight contests featuring the season opener and the last home game. The Wild West package is the next most expensive even though one of the eight games is the exhibition game. The High Roller package is the cheapest package with only the seven games not in the other packages included.
National TV Schedule
The other big news Thursday was the WNBA announcing all of the national broadcasts for the league this season. While the Valkyries have not announced local broadcast details, there is now some detail about games that will be national-exclusive. For those who do not live in the team’s home market or the opposition’s home market, which games will be available on the League Pass streaming service is now known. International fans who can buy League Pass will generally be able to watch all games, but there could be variations for specific countries.
ION Fridays
The league is continuing their relationship with broadcast network ION, which broadcasts all of the Friday games so details for those days were already known. For the Valkyries, that includes the team’s first ever game on May 16th against Los Angeles, but will also include home games on June 27th against Chicago and on July 25th against Dallas. Their away games are on May 23rd at Los Angeles, on August 1st at Chicago, August 15th at Chicago, and August 22nd at Phoenix.
When there is only one game in a window on Friday, the game will be carried nationwide while local affiliates may show different games when there are multiple games at that time. The Valkyries are the exclusive game on May 16th, July 25th, and August 22nd, but will be competing against other games on those other days. League Pass is an option for Friday games as well.
Other Broadcasts
The team will also be on other broadcast networks twice, both against Las Vegas as they host them on June 7th on ABC and visit them on July 12th on CBS. In terms of national streaming, they play on Amazon Prime on three Thursdays, a June 5th visit to Phoenix, a June 19th home game against Indiana, and a July 31st visit to Washington. The team visits Connecticut on July 27th in a game that can be seen on CBS Sports Network.
NBATV broadcasts are not exclusives so those games are also available on League Pass. The Valkyries are on there nationally four times this season, starting with their visit to Indiana on July 9th for camp day. The other three games are home affairs, against Las Vegas on August 6th, against Atlanta on August 17th, and against Indiana on August 31st.
