The Golden State Valkyries hosted an open house event at Chase Center on Saturday aimed at prospective season ticket holders to show off the views and amenities in the arena’s lower level. There were also activities and giveaways available to fans and targeted at kids as well. Individuals who have already placed their deposits to join the list for season tickets will still have to wait on more details regarding that process.

Open Areas

The lines started forming outside Chase Center’s East entrance well before the noon start and snaked down 16th Street and Terry Francois Boulevard by the time the doors opened. Attendees had been asked to specify an hour when they planned to show up, but after the initial push of people trying to get there at the start, anyone could enter with minimal wait and there was not too big of a crowd to enjoy all that the event had to offer for the rest of the day.

The entire concourse of the lower level was open to walk around the arena and then all of the sections were open for fans to sit in and check out the views with ticket sales representatives available to speak with in multiple sections. All four club areas accessible from that level, the United, the Ultra, the J.P. Morgan, and the Chase that is right at floor level, were open as well. Suites and the upper level remained closed. Team president Jess Smith was available to speak with in the J.P. Morgan club area and stayed past the end of the event to meet all of the fans who were still waiting.

Ticket Details

For fans eager to make their decisions already and commit to tickets for the inaugural season, the event did not mark a significant step toward being able to do so, although some information was released. Ticket sales representatives told attendees that it will still be a few weeks before appointments will be set up to start disseminating price information and final seating options. Ticket prices are still in the process of being set and approved so that still must be completed before the full rollout.

The open house was restricted to the lower level as the current plan is for sales to be open to those sections first for season ticket sales before opening any of the upper level sections for those packages. It is also not clear yet how much of the lower section will be left open to other ticket plans or single-game sales. For the highest demand games, the team is already planning that some or all of the upper level will need to be opened. Besides the floor seats and the lowest sections, there is club access for the sideline sections while the endline sections do not feature that access.

While the team continues to tout their record levels of season ticket deposits, it is clear that the expected conversion rate on that initial batch is not planned to be too high, which leaves plenty of time for more people to get on this list as sales start. Demand will drive how much of the upper level will be open to season tickets, which is important news for those who really want to be able to attend all of the games, but are worried about the cost given that the premium seats that will be sold first. The team has already expressed being conscious about avoiding pricing out those fans.

Giveaways and Activities

Fans received a tote bag as well as a pair of macarons with the team logo. The West Concourse Terrace also featured an activity area with two places for fans to take pictures with big version of the logo. Balloon artists made items for kids to take with them in the team colors while caricature artists created souvenir portraits. Materials were also provided to make team-themed bracelets as the area was crowded early in the event, but easier to access later in the day.

Arena Experience

The team made the arena appear as much as it might be for an actual Valkyries game as possible, putting the colors and logo everywhere:
