After a long road trip, the Golden State Valkyries return to San Francisco for the first of three home games in a row. The opponents will be familiar foes as they face the Las Vegas Aces for a second straight game. Given the blowout loss that the Valkyries suffered on Sunday, they will certainly have some quick revenge on their minds while finally getting some rest from traveling. With more games coming against other teams trying to grab a playoff spot, this will be another game where the result could be critical for the end of the season.
The Valkyries
The question for Golden State continues to be health and there has not been any positive or negative news on that front since the last game. Cecilia Zandalasini and Tiffany Hayes are both still listed on the injury report and the Valkyries could certainly use a return from at least one of them as they have tried to shuffle the lineup around their absences, going taller to start the last game. Janelle Salaun will also draw some scrutiny after her first half ejection on Sunday and will be looking for some redemption this time.
The Opposition
There have been no changes in the last few days for the Las Vegas Aces. This will be the final matchup of the regular season between the teams so they will be trying to get some insurance by securing the season series against the Valkyries. Both teams remain tied in the loss column, but the Aces have played one more game so that win keeps them above Golden State in the standings right now. The next two games will be critical in trying to stay in the last playoff spot.
