The quarterfinals at EuroBasket were played on Tuesday and Wednesday with the winners also securing spots in February’s World Cup qualifying tournaments. The losing teams will continue to play games on Friday and Sunday just like the winners as more qualifying spots are on the line.
France vs Lithuania
The first game of Tuesday featured player with Valkyries ties on both teams, but it was not that competitive as France rolled to an 83-61 win over Lithuania. Iliana Rupert led France with 15 points and 3 steals in 18 minutes while Janelle Salaun had 10 points in 16 minutes on perfect shooting and Migna Toure had 6 points in 18 minutes. Juste Jocyte had 9 points and 4 rebounds in 26 minutes for Lithuania. France will play Spain in the semifinals while Lithuania faces Czechia as they still try to make it to World Cup qualifying.

Italy
The other game on Tuesday had Italy playing Turkey and both teams were feeling like they had a good shot at getting back on the global stage. It was close throughout with Turkey forcing overtime, but Italy just got the edge late for a 76-74 win after Cecilia Zandalasini gave them the lead. She finished with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in 36 minutes.

Belgium
Belgium closed out the round on Wednesday by facing Germany and it was close early before they cruised to an 83-59 win. Julie Vanloo had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and a game-high 8 assists in 31 minutes and Kyara Linskens had 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds in 25 minutes. The win means that they will face Italy in the semifinals.
