Where are the Valkyries? EuroBasket Preparation Edition

The current Valkyries players who are playing in EuroBasket have not departed the team yet, but national teams have been busy playing exhibition games as they get ready to assemble their final rosters. Players who have ties to the Valkyries, even though they are not on the roster, have played in more exhibition games in the past week.

France

Exhibitions continued for France on Tuesday with the first of two games against Belgium. It was an expectedly large blowout win, ending at 91-42 with Iliana Rupert providing 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals in 18 minutes and Migna Toure adding 7 points and 4 steals in 18 minutes. Belgium bounced back in Wednesday’s rematch, winning 63-60 as Rupert had 11 points and 4 rebounds in 25 minutes.

Lithuania

Lithuania returned home to host a pair of exhibition games against Sweden, edging Thursday’s game 64-62. Juste Jocyte had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in 29 minutes. They lost the rematch 73-67 on Friday with Jocyte providing 4 points and 3 rebounds in 18 minutes.
