One of the preseason dates for the Golden State Valkyries was known previously but a time was officially announced along with an additional game on the road. The team will make their debut at home against the Los Angeles Sparks at 7pm on Tuesday, May 6th, before heading to Phoenix for a game at 3pm on Sunday, May 11th, and then getting ready for the season opener back at home on Friday, May 16th, at 7pm against the Sparks again.

Home Preseason Game Tickets

People who have already purchased season tickets were informed during the process that the home preseason game would be included in their package. Once those tickets had been loaded to accounts, it was known which day that it would be played. The suspicion was that it would be at the 7pm tipoff that weekday home games will be played at this season and that was confirmed in this announcement. Ticketing information for non-season ticket holders has not been released for this game or any regular season contests.

Besides getting to see the team in action, the preseason will be a good chance for the organization to prepare for the regular season opener in terms of handling every part of the fan experience smoothly, especially with how crowded that game will be. Those season ticket holders attending the preseason game will have the advantage of experiencing getting to the arena and their seats as well. For those fans utilizing Muni as a public transportation option, their rides will be free on that date with their Valkyries ticket like other Chase Center events.

Broadcast Possibilities

WNBA preseason broadcasts have been a sore spot for fans over the years in terms of games not being available to either in-market or out-of-market viewers. In-market broadcast information for the team has not been announced at all yet. Assuming that there is a fairly standard deal in place, the home exhibition may be a dry run for the regular season and they may go ahead and broadcast the game locally and possibly even to out-of-market viewers, especially given that there is likely to be more local interest for this game than any future preseason game. Fans should be prepared to not have an official broadcast for either game though until informed otherwise.
