The Golden State Valkyries finish a quick road trip on Saturday when they visit the Las Vegas Aces. The teams just met in San Francisco on Sunday and the first half was close before the Aces pulled away in the second half. The Valkyries will know that a win is critical for staying in contention to represent the Western Conference in the Commissioner’s Cup. The game is on ABC, which means that it is likely to start later compared to the listed noon start than a typical game. It will not be on ESPN Deportes, but people with access to ESPN Unlimited online can watch the Spanish broadcast there.
The Valkyries
The injury report is clean again for Golden State for this game. Given that Las Vegas has plenty of height and has been forced to run even taller lineups recently due to injuries, the Valkyries will have to make decisions on whether to run the smallball lineups as frequently as they did in the last two games. After a blowout win in the first game between the teams, Golden State has lost the last four meetings between the sides.
The Opposition
Las Vegas has only played one game since facing the Valkyries, finishing their road trip on Tuesday with a win over Los Angeles. They only had nine players available for the game, including Janiah Barker, who has yet to appear in a game for them. Dana Evans is still injured to start the season while Jewell Loyd, who missed the game in San Francisco, is listed as questionable in the initial report after being ruled out early for the last game. Chennedy Carter, who got hurt against Golden State, is already listed as out for this game.
